It depends on the sharing medium. A lot of things put out there are not necessarily law yet or the law is for another purpose and wouldn’t stand in court. The “Fair Use” law comes into play when it’s for evaluation or used with something where no profit is gained (Usually now associated with Youtube videos.) The copyright office just turned illegal jail breaking of phones to legal unlocking. My point is you have to first describe the use and then check copyright.gov for what is and is not legal.
